SA303 – Low cost, intelligent switching amplifier
The SA303's three independent half bridges provide over 10 amperes peak output current under microcontroller or DSC control. Additionally, cycle-by-cycle current limit offers user programmable hardware protection independent of the microcontroller. Output current is measured using an innovative low loss technique. The SA303 is built using a multi-technology process allowing CMOS logic control and complementary DMOS output power devices on the same IC. Use of P-channel high side FETs enables 60 V operation without bootstrap or charge pump circuitry.
The Power Quad surface mount package balances excellent thermal performance with the advantages of a low profile surface mount package.

The SA303-IHZ is a pulse width modulation (PWM) motor driver IC designed to protect brushless motors from operational hazards such as over current, under voltage and over temperature. This addition to the Apex Precision Power™ product family can generate performance gains in the overall motor control circuitry by eliminating motor shutdown and re-starts. For example, should an over-temperature or short circuit occur, the SA303-IHZ will not shutdown the outputs, but instead, allows the system to continue running while it signals the external controller to take corrective action. In most cases, the processor can correct the condition by utilizing software to remedy the external interrupt.
