Digi-Key Announces Stock on New Metcal MX-5000 Series Soldering and Rework System

Time to recovery increases production rates and throughput

THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minnesota - June 09, 2009 — Electronic components distributor Digi-Key Corporation, recognized by design engineers as having the industry's broadest selection of electronic components available for immediate shipment, announced today it now has in stock Metcal's new MX-5000 Series Soldering and Rework System.

Two models, the MX-5010 and MX-5041, are in stock and available for immediate shipment through Digi-Key's global websites. These products will also be featured in future print and online catalogs.

The availability of these products through Digi-Key is the result of Digi-Key having recently been named a Metcal Certified Distributor. Under the terms of this agreement, Digi-Key is part of a select group authorized to sell Metcal products.

The new MX-5000 Series is the next generation of the trusted Soldering and Rework Systems from Metcal. With double the power of its predecessor, the MX-5000's time to recover increases production rates and throughput. A new Metcal Advanced™ Hand-piece for soldering and rework has been designed to decrease operator fatigue and optimize operator manual dexterity. This hand-piece uniquely offers the user a choice of three interchangeable grips to meet the operator's ergonomic requirements.
