Digi-Key PTM Online... On Demand® Library Now Exceeds 500 Web-based Training Modules

THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minnesota - June 10, 2009 — Electronic components distributor Digi-Key Corporation, recognized by design engineers as having the industry's broadest selection of electronic components available for immediate shipment, announced today that its library of exclusive PTM Online... On Demand product training modules now exceeds 500 presentations, providing training on products and manufacturer-specific technologies from 122 participating Digi-Key supplier partners.

These web-based learning tools were created with the busy design engineer in mind. From Digi-Key's worldwide websites, the 5 to 60 minute training presentations, available in both audio and non-audio versions, can be viewed and/or listened to at the discretion of the user. Quick and information-rich, the presentations are an alternative to more time-consuming seminars and webinars. The fact all PTMs can be accessed 24/7 gives the engineer total scheduling control.

These training tools are produced by Digi-Key in collaboration with its supplier partners, and at any given time, approximately 100 modules are in varying stages of development. A symbol designates new modules for a period of 30 days. Modules that have been modified are identified as well to ensure a positive user experience.

From the parts list, a component of every training module, engineers can easily access product information pages with pricing and availability information and link to available product photos, technical drawings, and data sheets. They can also connect via live web chat to one of Digi-Key's technical support specialists who are now available around the clock, 365 days a year.

Originally introduced on Digi-Key's flagship website, www.digikey.com, English versions of the training modules are now available on all 25 of Digi-Key's country-specific websites.
